Upstream has changed the pattern of tag from "release_X_X" to "auctex-X.X.X"[1]. The latest release is now at 14.0.7. As mentioned in the previous message, I'd like to help with the Elpafication of AUCTeX as well as bringing this up-to-date. Thanks for considering.
