The git contains only 10 git commits, and seems to smell badly of sponsor promotion (regardless of legitimacy of the mission of said sponsor). That is a problem narrowly for this release because the git lacks a pristine-tar branch, but more generally it is socially a problem that history has been ditched. I guess it was not done on purpose. Do you have any knowledge of past source tracking?
