Hi Martin, we can confirm that the issue is caused by the openmpi 5 transition, see Bug: #1064810. Fixing this will require rebuilding every C++ package that PETSc depends on, as we have reported at https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1064810#109 You'll receive an automated follow up email when that task has been done and this bug will then get closed. Be aware that due to the large amount of packages involved it may take some time for us (Debian Science Maintainers, and the build system) to rebuild all of them. Cheers, Francesco
