Hi! I just submitted a bug upstream which sounds partly similar to Debian bugs #295270 and #347703. In the bug, I describe the cache corruption happening without the disk being full, resulting in a total freeze plus 100% CPU usage. This is using IMAP for mail access.
In retrospect, I could have chosen one of the existing bugs and appended the information to that. Perhaps it's the same bug, perhaps it's not. I'm not sure, so I'll let someone else decide later and merge/mark as duplicate as appropriate. In any case, the bug report includes the compressed contents of one corrupted mailbox cache.
