Hi,I confirm this is still an issue even in the new 24.x release of ark in experimental.
It looks like it's caused by the plugin ark uses to extract zip archives, but even disabling the libzip plugin in ark doesn't fix the behaviour entirely.
Hopefully upstream figures it out. Thanks for your report and sorry for the long delay in responding. sney
