People care this package due to its importance, even if only as a dependency package. If you are willing to have it team-maintained under Debian Python Team as shown on https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/PythonTeam , please just let us know. All relevant necessary one-time tasks (creating git packaging repo under the team, updating metadata) can be done soon with your permission. After that, you can still maintain this package in Debian as usual, while other team members can also handle Python-related tasks together on this package. Thanks, Boyuan Yang
