Package: hylafax Severity: minor 1. README.Debian says "All versions of hylafax disabled PAM when installed.". NEWS.Debian says the same thing. This sounds as if it means that PAM is disabled for *all packages*, i.e., the whole system. I assume it means that PAM support (?) is not enabled for hylafax by default. If I understood PAM better I'd offer some alternate wording.
2. The instructions in README.Debian and QuickStart are a little puzzling in view of the console log of the install. I no longer have it in front of me, but it seemed to be running faxsetup. README.Debian, but not the QuickStart, refers to this after a few paragraphs: --------------- Please note that the faxsetup program is now integrated with the start/stop script, so you may rerun faxsetup in order to select what protocol servers to run. ----------- Does this mean that you do not need to run faxsetup again? Or that you must run it if you want things to work properly? What is the faxsetup that happens during package install doing? I would also put this first, since it is the first thing that happens. 3. Step 3 of QuickStart seems dated in view of the discussion of part 2 of README.Debian. More generally, the presence of a "Quick Start" section in README.Debian (part 1) and a QuickStart file is at best redundant and at worst contradictory. It may be time to delete QuickStart. 4. (not really a documentation issue, though touched on in the README.Debian) It seems odd that hylafax-server depends on hylafax-client. 5. If you retain QuickStart, maybe rename it QuickStart.Debian. 6. I'm a bit unclear about how automatic the detection of modems is supposed to be, or what I need to do to set them up. This is probably largely outside the scope of this package, although some quick indications and pointers might be nice. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
