Thanks for the confirmation. Your statement made me realize that I could have been more helpful here, we have in fact https://kernel-team.pages.debian.net/kernel-handbook/ch-common-tasks.html#id-1.6.6.4 which would take most of the "overhead" from you to get kernel images build with patches on top for testing.
