Indeed, this is fixed in at least 3.5.0 (probably earlier, but I didn't go back to test). It's in experimental, I'm waiting on one other package (kiwix-desktop) to get updated upstream before kicking off the libzim/libkiwix transition to get a compatible version into unstable.
