I did the same experiment using 5.2.2 (vanilla sources,
--with-defaults):

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/net-snmp/net-snmp-5.2.2 $ apps/snmpget -On -v2c -c foobar
localhost:8161 .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0
.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0 = OID: .1.3.6.0.0.0.0.0.0.0
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/net-snmp/net-snmp-5.2.2 $

So it seems to be a bug in 5.2.2, which has been fixed in 5.3.0.
Consider to upgrade the Debian package.

Greets,
  Hilmar
