Macchanger came up as a candidate for the Bug of the Day[1] and so I had
a look into this bug. I realised that also the first patch does not
apply to the latest upstream version. I've imported it into Salsa
anyway[2] to ease the work for someone who is suffering from the problem
and will be able to fix *and* *test* the patch (which I can't without
much effort since I do not use this package).
