I got the same error using the service module. I can work around using
the systemd module, but still not nice.
You can reproduce the problem just running the following playbook:
#! /usr/bin/env ansible-playbook
---
- name: Test error on module service with mitogen_linear
hosts: all
remote_user: root
strategy: mitogen_linear
tasks:
- name: restart ssh
service:
name: ssh
status: restarted
