I took a look at this package and was able to fix the two test_get errors with debian/patches/0018-replace-assert-dict-contains-subset.patch
I tried to fix test_connections, but am stumped. it seems like upstream is having problems with versions of tornado and pyzmq, and it really seemed like the problem was more with the test harness than the application. I was certainly able to run jupyter notebooks after fixing the test_get errors and #1069027 python3-notebook: Jupyter Notebook fails to start - wrong call to traitlets.warn I think this is the most relevant upstream bug: https://github.com/jupyter/notebook/issues/6748 I think it'd be fair to close the FTBFS bugs and open a new lower priority bug about the test_connections issues.
