Ahem... You are right, of course: that the stamp is never created. Probably I used a custom make target with a (later?) package-specific rule depending on it, and then at some point moved to the current setup but forgot to remove the now unnecessary cleanup. I'll check, and simplify the snippet if that's the case. > My general feeling on dh-buildinfo is quite mixed. On the one hand, > if people want it, we can provide it. Oh, I really thought (without investigating) that the too was more used than that. The reason I include it for all of my packages is for the theoretical case of getting a bugreport reproducable with the same exact binary package but not recompiles from current sid/etch/sarge: dh_buildinfo would then help find out which *exact* packages was on the system when that binary package was produced, helping to locate possible errors in dependency library packages. I have never actually needed the output of dh_buildinfo, but I still find it valuable - in case someone some day wants to investigate further. Hope that clarifies the usefulnes of dh-buildinfo. - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist og Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ - Enden er nær: http://www.shibumi.org/eoti.htm
