Package: ftp.debian.org I am both upstream and the Debian maintainer of p10cfgd. This program is obsolete, completely irrelevant, and now just a waste of space in Debian and its derivatives. Please remove it from unstable.
Additional information if the above isn't sufficient. Around 1990, a company called Gracilis produced a product for the ham radio market called the PackeTen. I assisted with the development of that product, and p10cfgd was a daemon a friend and I put together to make it easier to manage PackeTen configurations. The last "Bits in the Basement" column I wrote for the July 1991 issue of the TAPR newsletter (which incidentally is where the "Bits from the DPL" messages I sent while DPL got their name, and "Bits from" is still widely used in Debian for update emails!) mentions Gracilis: https://files.tapr.org/psr/psr043.pdf I don't recall exactly when Gracilis stopped doing business, but it was at least 25 years ago. I have not heard of anyone still using a PackeTen in almost that long. So, while this package hasn't been "a problem", I now believe it is completely and utterly irrelevant and should no longer waste space in Debian or our derivative distributions. Regards, Bdale
