Hi. I'm "reopening" this because we should try to fix it in bullseye as well.
Currently, dnprogs FTBFS in bullseye (#1070960) and I've asked
it to be removed for the next (and last) point release (#1079021).
But we can't do that as far as net-tools continues to build-depend
on libdnet-dev.

Kernel support will be removed from Linux 6.1. The package keeps building

More to the point: Not only it builds without the B-D but it also builds
*identically*
in terms of diffoscope (i.e. the build-dependency does not really add any
functionality
at all and it's safe to remove it).
I'm attaching a trivial patch against the version currently in *bullseye*.
Martina: I've put your name as author. If you agree with the proposed patch
"as is", I could offer to do the remaining related bureaucracy if it helps
(i.e. filing the bug against release.debian.org and making the upload).
