Wireshark does not depend on nghttp3 or ngtcp2 on stable, so there will be no issue in that regard. Backports also allows libraries to be pushed, the list of current libs can be seen at: https://packages.debian.org/bookworm-backports/libs/ The website also explicitly mentions the case of transitions: https://backports.debian.org/Contribute/#index2h3 > To guarantee an upgrade path from stable+backports to the next stable, the > package needs to be in testing. Security updates may be uploaded before the > testing migration completes. Other short-term exceptions can be granted for > e.g. library transitions, critical bugs on request from the Backports Team. We are good to go ahead and upload both nghttp3 and ngtcp2 to stable-bpo. Sakirnth, would you like to do it yourself? Otherwise I can upload the packages within the next 4-5 days.
