I agree that the whole sid-specific thing makes it sound like it's relate to an upgraded library (eg, xorg libs); especially since we're using the same compiler version in sid and bookworm. I'm unfortunately unable to reproduce this in a virtualbox instance (cinnamon/X nor gnome/wayland), so it could also be something driver-related, too.

It's weird it _only_ happens on Sid, which is why I also wanted to report it here... like there's some dependency in sid that causes an issue?
