Package: openssh-server Version: 1:9.7p1-7 Severity: normal Hello ssh maintainers, first of all, I'm not sure if this is a bug in the client or server. I was prompted and selected "both", but then reportbug told me the package ssh does not exist. So please reassign as appropriate.
This is a regression compared to bookwork, from which I upgraded this machine a few weeks ago. Under X I run "ssh -X localuser@localhost" where localuser is a different uid than my ordinary one. Once logged in I launch firefox Firefox takes long to start (but this happened in bookworm as well). In Bookworm I was then able to use firefox as expected. In Testing Firefox works for a few seconds, then "pauses" for ~ 5 seconds and then works again for a few seconds, "pauses" for ~ 5 seconds and so on. Note that keyboard input is buffered, so if I e.g. type an URL during this pause, the keystrokes are delivered after the pause. To narrow this down: firefox without ssh does not exhibit this problem. /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kf5/kdesu -u localuser /opt/firefox/firefox also does not exhibit this problem. So something in ssh (client or server) must have changed to cause these delays. I ran the ssh session in verbose mode (-vvv), where I run the above command, launched firefox, hit one or two of these delays, closed firefox and logged out. The log is attached. If I should try something else or if you need other/further logs, simply tell me so that I can provde them. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to de_DE.UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages openssh-server depends on: ii adduser 3.137 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.87 ii init-system-helpers 1.66 ii libaudit1 1:3.1.2-4+b1 ii libc6 2.39-6 ii libcom-err2 1.47.1-1 ii libcrypt1 1:4.4.36-4 ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.21.3-3 ii libkrb5-3 1.21.3-3 ii libpam-modules 1.5.3-7 ii libpam-runtime 1.5.3-7 ii libpam0g 1.5.3-7 ii libselinux1 3.5-2+b3 ii libssl3t64 3.2.2-1 ii libwrap0 7.6.q-33 ii lsb-base 11.6 ii openssh-client 1:9.7p1-7 ii openssh-sftp-server 1:9.7p1-7 ii procps 2:4.0.4-5 ii runit-helper 2.16.3 ii sysvinit-utils [lsb-base] 3.09-2 ii ucf 3.0043+nmu1 ii zlib1g 1:1.3.dfsg+really1.3.1-1 Versions of packages openssh-server recommends: ii libpam-systemd [logind] 256.4-2 ii ncurses-term 6.5-2 ii xauth 1:1.1.2-1 Versions of packages openssh-server suggests: ii ksshaskpass [ssh-askpass] 4:5.27.11-1 pn molly-guard <none> pn monkeysphere <none> pn ufw <none> -- debconf information excluded -- Dr. Helge Kreutzmann deb...@helgefjell.de Dipl.-Phys. http://www.helgefjell.de/debian.php 64bit GNU powered gpg signed mail preferred Help keep free software "libre": http://www.ffii.de/
