Package: caddy
Version: 2.6.2-5
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

i am working with the upstream caddy maintainers to update caddy on
   debian.

apart from bug fixes and feature additions, one large change that is
missing in the current version (2.6.2) are the changes to the zerossl api.
old versions of caddy, before 2.8.0, can fail to fetch certificates from
zerossl if no email is set.
you can read more about that here:
https://github.com/caddyserver/caddy/releases/tag/v2.8.0

2.7.x and 2.8.x also have backwards incompatible changes to the config
format such that now the
caddy documentation (only latest version is every supported and provided)
does not match with 2.6.2.

it would be nice to be able to get caddy updated such that people are
not running into configuration errors and zerossl certificates with
   the stock debian version.
