I had the impression that the Appstream data was only fetched from the
Debian archive, and have no experience with feeding information via the
local disk. The only way I have updated the Appstream data so far is
via uploads to the Debian archive. :)

The data should be available when the package is NOT installed.
Is there a way to debug my .metainfo.xml *without* uploading a new
package in the archive?
I just created the file
/usr/share/metainfo/fr.apdu.pcsclite.metainfo.xml by hand.
Maybe I should use a tool to register it?
I am using Debian testing.
I have no idea, I suspect I will need help with this one.
