That is not standard UI but the ribbon stuff they unfortunately added
("Tabbed" / "A schede")...
I usually don't even try anything there, so people should mention they
use that. I use standard, "normal" UI :)
as this used to happen consistently on my setup before the upgrade to
backport, just by clicking on the elements circled in the screenshot.
Even there I do get a "drop down" with symbols there. Yes, stable with
it_IT even.
So still unreproducible. In GNOME with gtk3.
But anyway, as it's fixed in newer versions...
Sorry for not making myself clearer earlier. The expected behavior is
a new window opening up to select symbols(/special characters?). The
actual behavior is nothing happening.
The expected behaviour is a "drop down" here, not a new window.
