Hi Joey, In #161379 against gstreamer0.8-alsa, you complained about the descriptions of the GStreamer plugins packages: On Tue, Aug 19, 2003, Joey Hess wrote: > I still think many of the descriptions could be improved, but at least a > few of them do actually say what it can be used for now.
What do you think of the current description of gstreamer0.8-alsa: Description: ALSA plugin for GStreamer This GStreamer plugin enables the usage of ALSA supported devices for input and output audio streams. In general, the description are quite technical in 0.8 packages because there is something like 1 package per plugin / plugin group (plugins are grouped by dependencies they pull). In 0.10, the plugins are grouped in large sets, with less technical descriptions (but perhaps even more obscure), however I consider that these plugins should be pulled by applications dependencies, not by the end-user selecting them in his package manager. What do you think? Perhaps you can suggest a wording for the descriptions which you still consider clumsy? Thanks, -- Loïc Minier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
