Source: beancount
Version: 2.3.5-2build1
Severity: normal

Beancount 2.3.6-1 introduced a dependency on python3-oauth2client which
has unfortunately been deprecated for 7 years now. Unsurprisingly, there
are more and more issues popping up which is why I'm working on removing
it (especially from Ubuntu as it breaks with new pyopenssl versions and
prevents it from migrating).

The current use seems to be solely upload-to-sheets (calling
sheets_upload.py). Note that in the recently-released beancount 3, this
binary has been moved in another package.

I've opened https://github.com/beancount/beancount/issues/837 but as
mentioned above, upload-to-sheets has been removed from beancount 3
anyway. I don't know if upstream has short-terms plans to update script.

I think it makes sense to drop the dependency on python3-oauth2client
for now and possibly re-introduce it once things have settled down.
