How strange. It work for me. Here is a test run: % ./xmacrorec :0 Press the key you want to use to end the application. This key can be any key, as long as you don't need it while working with the remote display. A good choice is Escape. The chosen quit-key has the keycode: 37 XTest for server ":0" is version 2.2. Skipping stale KeyRelease event. 1 Skipping stale KeyRelease event. 0 xmacrorec: pointer and keyboard released. released % I had to press escape twice, once to register it as the exit keypress, and once to exit.
