Currently, gnome-session has Depends: xdg-desktop-portal-gnome | xdg-desktop-portal-backend If a gnome user manages to end up with xdg-desktop-portal-gtk installed without xdg-desktop-portal-gnome, screensharing will not work in web browser and similar. This is what happened to me and I found the situation very hard to diagnose.
