Was there any strong reason for removing this? I mean like an unfixed
security vulnerability or so?

Its most recent version from sid *did* seem to work well with current
versions of FF (i.e. the one in sid which is 127.0-1 - haven't checked
ESR though).

Now, people are simply left with nothing.
No current version of noscript, no old version. umatrix, librematrix
seem both dead upstream.
And all JavaScript runs.

So even if it didn't work for ESR anymore, people that run on the
current firefox could still benefit from it.
That is of course, unless it had an security issues.
