I don't know why it wasn't triggered previously, but I can confirm the problem is not architecture specific, and I can replicate it on amd64 with CONFIG_ARGS_amd64 := --disable-docs --enable-bc Rather than being architecture specific it seems related to the configuration options that happen to only be used for armel at the moment.
