Please also note that ATLAS is now obsolete and in the process of being removed from Debian, see this thread: https://lists.debian.org/msgid-search/4311acc16afb473599c79bd5b17a8b734c2f8d2b.ca...@debian.org This bug is actually more about BLAS/LAPACK in general than about a specific implementation (ATLAS).
