Echoing Reinhard here. Lots of external tooling I work with has now moved their minimum API versions on past the ceiling value supported by the docker.io package (e.g. [1]). We seem to be three versions behind (23,42,25) and tracker.d.o notes that 26.0.0~rc2 is tagged, so it's likely 26 is just around the corner. Thank you!
