And should reverse (build) dependencies pick this up automatically? If so, a Provides (or transitional package) might be appropriate. If not, please file bugs against the reverse (build) dependencies, mark these bugs as blocking this bug and help the maintainers transition. This package can't be removed until reverse (build) dependencies are fixed or removed, but there are key packages among them so removal is not an option in all cases.
