Package: zope2.8 Version: 2.8.6-1 Severity: normal My logs show this error: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate: error: error running shared postrotate script for "/var/log/zope2.8/*/Z2.log" "/var/log/zope2.8/*/event.log" run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate exited with return code 1
I've been getting similar errors on various versions of Zope on 2 different systems; they are very sporadic. I thought the latest upgrades had fixed this, but it seems not. Here are some other messages, with dates 2005-11-05 error: error running shared postrotate script for "/var/log/zope3/*/Z2.log" "/var/log/zope3/*/access.log" >From a different system: 2006-01-01 error: error running shared postrotate script for /var/log/zope/*/*.log also 2006-01-08 2006-01-15 2006-01-22 2006-01-29 2006-02-05 2006-02-12 2006-02-19 2006-02-26 2006-03-05 2006-03-12 2006-03-19 2006-03-26 2006-04-02 2006-04-09 2006-04-16 2006-04-23 2006-04-30 2006-05-07 2006-05-14 2006-05-21 2006-05-28 all are followed immediately (i.e., on the next line) by kill(1910, 12) signal 12 sent to process 1910 with varying process numbers. Even though these are from cron.daily, they are once a week, and so it seems likely something in cron.weekly triggers them. I hadn't noticed the pattern til just now.
