Hi, thanks for the bug report. Just some words for clarification. Your are right, the man page of dh-make-pecl doesn't mention the option for building only for php4 or php5. But, the option is called --only not --version.
dh-make-pear doesn't have and doesn't need such an option because debian pear packages just depend on php-pear which works for both php4 and php5. What do you mean by online help?
