I have trouble understanding the reason. Most distributions like Fedora/Redhat and derivatives, OpenSUSE, ArchLinux, FreeBSD, MingGW, Alpine, Homebrew and others use mpdecimal and --with-system-libmpdec. The message that CPython uses the internal libmpdec.a is ambiguous. They just temporarily build a libmpdec.a, --with-system-libmpdec still works. The PHP decimal module, an Erlang module and others use libmpdec. They install packages from the distributions and then build their own applications. Most do not bother to create packages for Linux distributions. Stefan Krah > >
