Control: severity -1 important

Helmut disagreed with your call here and asked the Release Team on IRC to have a check.

Call it teething issues. This is a new package, so I'm trying to avoid
making debian/control more verbose than it needs to be by not crowding
the fields with the strict specifications needed to avoid this error.

I agree with Helmut that under normal circumstances this bug is an RC issue and I think you agree too. I think that adding a versioned Breaks/Replaces that you can drop after the release of trixie isn't too much to ask for something that has been part of trixie already. Having said that, I'm not going to overrule you.

Once the new version migrates to testing, I'll close this bug and we
can pretend it never happened.

For next time, I ask you to consider either using experimental to iron out things like this and/or ensure your package doesn't migrate to testing until you believe you're done. Having said that, unstable does have users. E.g. our derivatives often pull from unstable, so even for those it's nice to do the right thing. I'm sure you don't know of all our derivatives when they freeze, and hence if they happened to have released to their stable the thing that now breaks.

Paul
