Package: fetchmail Version: 6.4.37-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Where possible I have passwords in .netrc rather than fetchmailrc but I can't find a way of removing the ESMTPPASSWORD from fetchmailrc. I realise the situation is slightly complicated because this password refers to smtphost in the USER-OPTIONS section rather than the poll/via server, but it wouldn't be a problem for me if it was looked up as the poll/server machine -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-13-686 (SMP w/2 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages fetchmail depends on: ii adduser 3.134 ii debianutils 5.7-0.5~deb12u1 ii init-system-helpers 1.65.2 ii libc6 2.36-9+deb12u3 ii libcom-err2 1.47.0-2 ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.20.1-2+deb12u1 ii libkrb5-3 1.20.1-2+deb12u1 ii libssl3 3.0.11-1~deb12u2 ii lsb-base 11.6 ii sysvinit-utils [lsb-base] 3.06-4 Versions of packages fetchmail recommends: ii ca-certificates 20230311 Versions of packages fetchmail suggests: pn fetchmailconf <none> ii postfix [mail-transport-agent] 3.7.6-0+deb12u2 pn resolvconf <none> -- Configuration Files: /etc/default/fetchmail changed [not included] just changed START_DAEMON to yes -- no debconf information
