Where is that obviousness documented? I find that highly counter-intutive. Do note that I didn't intentionally install usr-is-merged, this is a minimal build chroot we're talking about after all. It got pulled in by something: $ apt-cache rdepends usr-is-merged usr-is-merged Reverse Depends: dbus init-system-helpers usrmerge I have dbus=1.14.10-1 and init-system-helpers=1.65.2. I can't say I entirely understand the purpose of usr-is-merged other than to brick systems with unattended upgrades. Could you explain? Thanks, --Daniel
