After having run the new Angband for a few runs through the dungeons, /var/games/angband has files in "scores" and "save" directories. The "save" is the save files, and the "scores" contains historic summaries of characters who were killed. I suspect, but don't know, that this is what the old version did as well. You are right, it would make more sense to save this info in ~/.angband but that does not seem to be what it does. That's where I looked in my backups, but to no avail (I don't back up /var). No great loss, really, in my case, but some might be more upset. Certainly I think it's as worthy of a mention as the SDL font issue you nicely put in the NEWS.Debian. -Doug
