Hi Sergio, As you say, spyder has a lot of dependencies, and I don't know exactly which ones would need backporting to get a working spyder in backports, and how many of these backports might break other things in other packages along the way. I don't have the capacity to take on this level of responsibility for backports, so I do not intend to backport spyder. If someone else would like to take on this task, though, they are more than welcome to do so! (If this bug is really annoying you, you can always run the PyPI version of spyder in a virtual environment.) Best wishes, Julian
