I asked for help from the Tracker maintainers. I tried a few things today to try to make sure $HOME was writable but they didn't work. It's hard because I haven't yet figured out a way to get the build test to fail outside the Debian buildds. I think we need help from someone who has a better understanding of how the Debian buildd environment is restricted and how that interferes with testing services. Perhaps there was a change in the configuration of the buildds a couple months ago that triggered this build failure? Has the kernel changed? etc. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
