=> Doing a regular apt update && apt upgrade, the newer Kernel was installed
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
=> I booted the older kernel and eventually uninstalled the -12 kernel
   * What was the outcome of this action?
=> System now runs on -11 kernel, flawlessly
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
=> To be able to normally boot up system after updating the kernel
