If you don't know this, then you probably did not install this updated but incomplete ConTeXt into /usr/share/texmf. Are files like /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/base/cont-en.tex owned by any Debian package, ie what is the output of dpkg -S /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/base/cont-en.tex ? There are no special ConTeXt packages in Debian, but maybe somebody created something for Kanotix? It is quite some time ago since I last used Kanotix.
