Sorry to have not acknowledged this a while back. I am working on it.

The hardest part of porting Chroma to SDL 2 is its fullscreen and
window-sizing logic, which was complicated already, and for which SDL 2
has profoundly changed the APIs. But that is also an area of the Chroma
code with at least one known bug (#1023770), so I'm thinking that a full
rewrite of that section - especially one that simplifies it rather than
making it more complicated - is probably a good thing anyway.

I hope to be in a position shortly to send a draft patch along these
lines upstream and see what they think about it.
