Hi, why don't you want to merge this at all? Your smartd.conf should basically only contain N lines if you have N disks (or DEVICESCAN). Don't bother if smartmontools provides a new version, just go on using your old one. There's no state information in smartd.conf that applies to all disks. Cheers, -- Guido
