feedreader was not included in Debian 12 because it links against libsoup2.4 and librest which has switched to libsoup3. It's not possible for apps to run if they link against both simultaneously. See https://bugs.debian.org/1017493 feedreader has been archived upstream. Its maintainer now works on a similar app named NewsFlash that has been rewritten in Rust. The new app is waiting for the Rust bindings for libadwaita to be available in Debian. The new app would need to go through the Debian NEW queue as a new source package name and it seems to be the better way forward than trying to port an app no longer maintained upstream. Therefore, please remove feedreader from Debian.
