What's irregular about my system? For example, most of Debian's servers have multiple Debian installations in chroot jails. It is a fairly popular technique among Debian developers, at least.

A simple thing that you could do to differentiate these notifications is to keep different hostnames for each system, thus the apticron would generate different notifications since the hostname is included on them.

The "systems" run on the same hardware, they share the same IP address and they share the same kernel. I'm not sure they *can* have different hostnames.

In any case, what I asked for is essentially a one-line change. I don't understand why it's so difficult to do.
