This could be a bug anyway... yesterday I talked with Noel, and he had
a similar problem.

After upgrading from 1:6.4-007+1 to 1:7.0-017+2, the vi alternative
pointed to nvi instead vim on his system. Unfortunately, I was unable
to reproduce this in a clean unstable chroot.
