Package: dhcp-client Version: 2.0pl5-19.1 Severity: important The Debian version of dhclient stores its lease status in /var/run/dhclient.<interface>.leases. If the DHCP server is unreachable, it looks for this file to see if there are any valid leases to resort to. However, /var/run appears to be emptied on my system upon reboot.
Other distributions store lease information in /var/db/ or /var/lib/dhcp/ -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (600, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.13-byte Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages dhcp-client depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22sarge3 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
