I have taken this opportunity and created a nagios2-dbg package. Can
you please try nagios2_2.3-1.0 from
http://zg.debian.zugschlus.de/zg/pool/main/nagios2/ and see whether
you can get a more meaningful backtrace when using nagios2-dbg?

Disclaimer: I have never done this before, so what I've done might be
wrong. I am very interested in getting your results.
