Package: lios Version: 2.7.2-5 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: svobod...@gmail.com
Dear Maintainer, lios 2.7.2-5 (bookworm) reports "Dictionary not found!" during start even though packages tesseract-ocr-[eng,deu,ces,...] and spellcheck dictionaries (aspell-*, hunspell-*) are installed. Lios mistakenly expects tesseract language packs to be installed in /usr/share/tesseract-ocr/tessdata, but in fact they are located in /usr/share/tesseract-ocr/5/tessdata. As a result of this bug user cannot choose specific language in Recognition Preferences menu. As a workaround user can create a softlink /usr/share/tesseract-ocr/tessdata -> /usr/share/tesseract-ocr/5/tessdata. After creating this softlink, lios detects installed language packs as expected. This issue was reported upstream a few years ago, see https://github.com/zendalona/lios/issues/6.
